SPECIFYING A WISKER DISK

Call 800-367-0486 with any questions regarding specifying your Wisker Disk

  • The letter and number of the Wisker Disk insert (part inserted between the two metal plates of the Wisker Disk Holder) indicates wisker size and spool size

  • The letter L, H or XH (light, heavy or extra-heavy) indicates the diameter of the nylon wisker

  • This letter corresponds to the specific range of wire AWG most commonly used with the disk:

    L = Light………………………………35 AWG or finer

    H     = Heavy………………………………...35 – 25 AWG

    XH     = Extra-heavy……………..…Heavier than 25 AWG

  • Example: An L-06 Wisker Disk would be applicable to 35 or finer AWG on a 6” spool

  • Frequently used sizes are stocked for immediate shipment


WISKER DISK HOLDER

This metal holder ensures a long life for your Wisker Disk

  • Facilitates placement of the disk on the spool

  • Set is held together with a 1/4” knurled screw and a standard 5/8” bushing (larger bushing sets of 1 1/4” and 1 1/2” are available for use with larger spools)

  • Custom size disks and holders are also available. Specify the following variables when obtaining a custom disk and holder:

    • Diameters of holders, plates and bushing

    • Size of center hole/paper/filament

    • Diameter of nylon filament (.008/.012/.020)

    • Number of filaments per inch
